Does this happen to you? You are sketch something, you step back and realize that you hate it!
Why we experience this? As we start to learn to design, we get exposed to a lot of quality work on the internet. Our taste (vision) improves fast. We can appreciate a good design.
However, our skill takes a lot of time to improve. You need to sketch consistently to improve. Your taste is high, you see all of your flaws and imperfections.
You decide that you will not give up. At one point your hand overtakes your vision and you feel excited. You love your sketches, design, everything you create.
But this excitement won't last long. The taste improves and you see your flaws again.
The skill and taste are in constant battle. This dance creates growth, which is not linear. Learn to love the race and watch yourself grow over time.
If you want to improve faster check the link in my bio! The book is part of my doctoral work and will help you evolve both your taste and sketches!
